An SOS team consisting of Drs. Reinou Groen and Adam Kushner spent two weeks at Connaught Hospital in Freetown, Sierra Leone. They documented the progress being made in the surgery department, including a doubling of major operative cases from 2007 to 2009.

The team also participated in morning handover meetings which help to improve patient care and train junior doctors.
